| NEALS History The Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS), was founded in 1995, as an independent, non-profit consortium of clinical and scientific investigators who conduct research at their affiliated institutions. Beginning with only 9 clinical and academic centers, NEALS has grown to include 89 member institutions in the United States, Canada, and Ireland. Vision & Values NEALS is committed to the cooperative planning, implementation and satisfactory completion, analysis and reporting of controlled clinical trials, and of other research studies aimed at improving patient care and disease understanding of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Remaining true to its collaborative efforts, NEALS will work with other professional organizations and government and industry sponsors, to develop substantive treatments for patients with ALS. |  |
