NEALS Clinical Trial Capabilities

 

NEALS as a Contracted Research Organization (CRO)

The NEALS network has over 15 years of experience in developing and conducting multi-center clinical trials in ALS and motor neuron disease. NEALS can help sponsors interested in developing new studies design protocol, select sites, and manage trials. Specifically, NEALS has expertise in:

•    Study Monitoring
•    Data Management
•    Outcome Measure training and development
•    eCRF coding
•    Biostatistical support

•    Training modules for CRAs, project managers, site investigators, and potential study

NEALS has over 100 member sites equipped to perform clinical research. NEALS provides all sites with comprehensive training in outcome measures and site management so that NEALS can quickly initiate new trials and produce high quality data.

Our Clinical Trial Cores

Coordination & Data Management Center (MGH NCRI)
The Neurological Clinical Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH NCRI) is an academic clinical research organization that acts as the NEALS Coordination & Data Management Center. The NCRI provides NEALS studies with protocol development, project management, data management, biostatistical support, and grant and contract management services. Outcomes & Monitoring Center (SUNY Upstate) 
SUNY Upstate Medical University (SUNY Upstate) acts as the NEALS Outcomes & Monitoring Center. SUNY Upstate provides NEALS sites with training on ALS outcome measures.  In addition, SUNY employs and trains NEALS site monitors who conduct site and pharmacy monitoring for trials.
